A Bluetooth synchronization application, BTTray.exe runs as a background process and detects when a bluetooth device is near. The application only runs when the WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software for Windows program is used to activate bluetooth. BTTray then uses previously configured settings to sync or ignore devices that have been paired in the past. Widcomm was the first Bluetooth stack designed solely for Windows. Widcomm Inc. was purchased by Broadcom in 2004. Located in Irvine, California, Broadcom is a Fortune 500 semiconductor company.
