Appears to be a mouse application, came with my sony vaio laptop help
When I terminate this process controls certain enhanced features of some scroll wheels. For instance, in my job, I need to count how many new emails I have in certain Outlook Express folders. I can have Outlook Express open with the calculator on top and scroll down the folder list without the calculator loosing focus and moving to the back. With ico.exe I can still scroll through the folder list even though OE is not the active program. When I terminate ico.exe, this funtionality no longer works. Blake

Also came with my Sony Vaio laptop. The process was running when I took my PC right out of the box, even before going on the internet. My best guess is that it goes with the software that came preinstalled on the laptop, perhaps could be a mouse application as some have suggested. tera

Also running on my Vaio - suspect that it is to do with the added functionality that can be configured into the dragpad. As most people plug a USB mouse in for ease I'd say you can disable this from start-up. I hate all these "harmless" background processes - I'd rather use the processor and RAM for applications! I also got this from Rocketfish Mouse ware. It slowed my computer so I started Process Monitor and noticed that it accounts for a large part if not the majority of registry access and seems to be looking for data 'not found'. This is junk in my opinion. The Rocketfish Mouse it came with seems OK though. Tim.
