0_0 I can see it's fully hidden but dam what would happen if I decided to temporarily disable the service so I could play my games correctly??? I would hate to have a game slacker purposely installed by M$ to ruin my high speed Vista performances. On a side-note. Most my games don't seem to play right atm so maybe that's a solution? xD

soll wirklich der "lokale Sessions Manager" sein, ist mir aber erst seit neuestem uner den geladenen Prozessen aufgefallen. Wenn es wirklich ein WIN-Prozess ist, warum läuft der erst jetzt an??? (Nutzen fraglich) LMP67
If you have pirate Vista or Windows 7, it is activation/genuine crack, so if you have pirate Vista or Pirate Windows 7, dont delete it Ville
It's a required system process. Windows will shut itself off if it is terminated from inside task manager. It's growth in memory usage occurs from continous use of WMP 11  Siehe auch: Link BcB9000
Local Session Manager. Process found on Windows Vista and whose role is to manage the terminal server connections to the machine. In Vista, terminal server sessions are not just Remote Desktop sessions from remote users as they are in Windows XP/2003, they are also your sessions when you are logged in to the PC at the PC itself, as all sessions, whether local or remote, are virtualised terminal server sessions. It follows, therefore, that this process is a crucial core process of Windows Vista.  Siehe auch: Link Johnny Johansen
The implementation of the process lsm.exe is in relation with the Local Session Manager Service of the Microsoft Windows Operating System and is associated with the System Management task of the platform. The presence of the lsm.exe process can be seen mostly under the Microsoft Windows Vista environment, where it functions by managing the connections related to the terminal server on the hosted machine. Under the Microsoft Windows Vista platform, the uses of the file lsm.exe are not limited to the Remote Desktop sessions that involve remote computer machine users similar to those found in Mic  Siehe auch: Link Kurt17

it was using my entire processor 0_0
Had a version in C:\Users\ user \AppData\Roaming that was using 99% cpu from start. Stopped and deleted, no ill effects. nix
It made my processor go 100% constantly, and made my pc very slow. Jimmie
This virus was named after the critical file on Windows, but was placed in AppData instead of System32. I noticed it had been running at startup, but my pc was too fast to be able to see the little line of text when it came by. This is a trojan hidden Bitcoin miner, as wierd as it sounds. GET RID OF IT GOOD LORD. Make sure it's in AppData though. If you delete the System32 one, you're screwed. Evan Klug
It has very bad memory leaks but a way to fix it sort of is by going to task manager and right clicking lsm.exe and change affinity and change it so it only uses 1 so it takes less processing power, All though it will not fix any ram problems it gives, And also DO NOT DELETE IT. vgaggia
I found it in appdata/roaming i deleted it and my computer works fine Jacob Collins
lsm is supposed to reside within the Windows folder. If you find it outside that (e.g.in a user profile), that's something masquerading as the real lsm anon user
Critical Win7 file. Ism.exe 32* isn't. Eppo
im no expert by far.. but i do like to learn.. from what i can tell its an authorization program that, if running correctly is fine.. However, if you see this C:\Users\your_name\AppData\Roaming\lsm.exe -- bad.. so its known to have clone virii human-robot
If it's in System32, keep it at all costs or your computer is toast. But anywhere else, delete it as soon as you can. That's all I've got to say. Roxio
