seemed to be added to my comp when i updated to IE 8...updated a Comcast toolbar at that time also...possibly from that? Dosetaker

It hides itself so you can not easily uninstall it. It can cause memory problems. If the program is what it says it is it is considered safe, but the name is often masked by malware. Norton Security Suite blocks it regularly whenever the computer is on. Severity: medium Activity Unauthorized access blocked (access process blocked) It does seem to slow things down and it keeps trying to connect. superantispyware, malwarebytes, or Norton have never identified it on my pc. I have wndows 8.1, use comcast, watch videos and play games online, and believe me I know how to get a virus, malware, Trojan or worm. I also know how to get rid of them. As far as I can see, ITMRTSVC.exe is safe. However should I find out different, I will be glad to let you know. fictionaltruth
