There is an imposter file causing infection. I recently resolved a spyware infection on a client computer where the file had replaced the original, It left no backup copy with a different filename extension, it simply replaced or deleted the original, there was an entry in the registry that ran the file at each Windows restart. This occurred on a Windows 98se system. The infection file was 50 kilobytes in size, the original file should only be 16 kilobytes. The file was in the \ win directory \system folder. Robert S.
