"X" - Definitely not required - typically viruses, spyware, adware and "resource hogs"

It is very difficult to remove. Get the latest version of HiJackThis and Killbox and DLLCompare to assist you in your challenge...

Definitely spyware, part of "IBIS Toolbar" and pretty hard to get rid of (Ad-Aware detected it, but wasn't able to clean it), because it runs at system startup and starts another watchdog program (PIB.exe). If either of these two is killed, the other immediately restarts it. And because they are "in use", they cannot be deleted without some tricks.

It's self regenerating. For instance, if you click "end process" in the cntrl/alt/dlt, the process ends for a moment or two and then creates a new file and opens again.

Its a tricky spyware, if u try to terminate the process, it open ub several other process to ensure its process.... i get rid of it by SpyBot Search & Destoy, and dont forget to turn off System Restore on XP or ME before deleting any Spyware, else it restore the Spyware!!!

Keeps reinstalling itself. puts itself back into the registry. think i got rid of it by booting into safe mode stopping service and removing it from run part of registry.

frustrated p2p user |
just noticed it after installing shareaza, and shareaza doesn't work very good

Runs in memory and so is not removed by SpyBot et.al. To remove it, note its location as reported by SpyBot, then reboot in safe mode and delete the executable. The version I had created a directory called c:\Program Files\WinTools, which I removed entirely.

I did not seek out this file; it found me. I cannot get rid of it. At boot, it says it is missing some component, and crashes my system.

Very disturbing file series, I spent 2 hours trying to clear it out this morning. Help getting rid of it: What I did was rebooted my computer to safe mode (press F8 during startup) and disconnected my internet connection. I proceeded to cntl alt delete to the task manager where i attempted to close the programs, after fighting with it for about 10 minutes I gave up and ran Ad-Aware & Spybot, both detected it but neither would cleanse it. Im going to try deleting all associated files this evening...
