Icon in Windows system tray also provides easy access to "Show all processes" (starts Security Task Manager), and "Delete history" (deletes accumulated junk in whatever category that is checked in a list of options; very handy, especially regarding internet usage history). |It appears from the comments here that there are two pieces of software with the same name, one a fake scanner, the other (which I have) a useful piece of software that came as an extra when I bought Security Task Manager. Amongst other things, it performs the really useful function of alerting me every time something I am installing tries to add a registry entry that starts an 'updater' or worse every time I turn on the computer. This is much better than trying to identify each one later and clearing them all out after the machine becomes too slow at start up. AlanK|

I have paid for this and it works fine. Spyware protector.exe is the executable It is part of security task manager. it warns when registry changes and keyboard monitoring and other monitors when enabled. you need to enable this every time manually when you are doing things like banking etc. i enable mine every time i boot bit of a pain but the developer will not enable automatically as I have asked. loza
Spy Protector is a valid program that monitors all applications on your computer and gives is a danger/no danger report derived from the database that folks who use it send in. It is a very useful tool for learning what each process that runs on my computer is doing. Vern Reid

Add-on to Security Task Manager
It has the trojan "Spy Sheriff", and is a rogue security scan service. It pretends to detect lots of viruses with extremely high threat levels which are not actually on your computer. Spy Sheriff is capable of removing legitimate security scan services before being detected. HO
