| John A.|| VoIP Program. The Skype client does connect out to a number of "Skype Proxies" so the main servers don't have to do all the work....problem is you can be elected as a proxy if you are on a fast link, then your connection speed will decrease accordingly. The address that it picks are pretty scary if you have a TCP/IP packet capture going.....dorm rooms in Spain, Internet cafe's in Thailand..... |

| || I was initially concerned when Tenebril SpyCatcher warned me that skype.exe was trying to log my keystrokes. I asked Skype why it was so doing, and received the following reply: Skype has a built-in system-wide Hotkey feature (accessible via Tools Options Hotkeys) which to some applications might appear as a keylogger because Skype needs to recognize key actions to make the hotkey function possible. |
| Paul.|| This app is allowed through your firewall and effectively onto your LAN. Also, Skype is P2P as it identifies "Supernodes" and uses most if not all of your bandwidth to accomodate other Skype users - stay right away, there are alternatives! |
