aka SDMCP.exe is required in any Stardock app that uses a custom System Notification Area (systray). It is harmless, as all it does is provide support for the systray icons.... nothing more. (I have used Stardock apps since 1998)
Chizl Monitor it's activity, has some excessive CPU processing, but expected with the large amount of Images and objects it's loading.
Andy Part of Stardocks DesktopX - for skinning windows.  See also: Link
ViVac any1 know which method SDMCP.exe use to autorun itself on startup?
misfit it's difficult to get rid of sometimes and often times it is the culprit of system freeze ups or momentary hangs....i hate it but I love object desktop
mudanis Causes multiple display pc's to hang an startup. End process to continue.
SubJunk It is harmless, not a virus or spyware, but on some computers it conflicts with Kerio Firewall. If your taskbar is permanently frozen and you have Kerio installed as well as a Stardock app, you may have to disable sdmcp.exe in order to use your taskbar.
koop I test and use many software programs
milksama SDMCP internally populates a list of System Tray and Taskbar entries, which is queried by ControlCenter, DesktopX, ObjectBar, ObjectDock, RightClick, and maybe others. Removal of this file will not cease function in these applications, but will negate the systray/taskbar feature. To safely shut this down, copy/paste this into Start- Run: [ "%commonprogramfiles%\stardock\SDMCP.exe" -shutdown ] (Without the [ ])  See also: Link
hanzZz Its a Stardock app
Brandon Occationally spawns update.exe. I hate automatic updating of anything, however this is part of Stardock Central so it's harmless unless exploited.
Jeremy Yak Its part of Stardock.com's software, used in ObjectDock, DesktopX, IconX, it is a required file if you have them.  See also: Link
Kenshin I believe it's harmless but still annoying. I mean all you have to do is open task manager and end it. That's if you are using any stardock product if not then definetely go to C:program files/common.../stardock and delete the folder
Pavel Because I wrong uninstalled DesktopX , it's make my Start panel freez. I have to shut it down manualy everytime after logon.
