This process is installed as part of the driver package for various Epson inkjet printer. It checks your computer to determine if a printer port is available, and also what capabilities that port has if present (such as bidirectional operation or ECP/EPP compatibility.) It then uses this information to configure the Epson printer drivers for proper operation. This process may not be needed for newer Epson printers.
