Process name: Nvidia Raid Service
Product: Nvidia Raid Utility
Company: Nvidia Corporation (nvidia.com)
Any computer with NVIDIA Raid technology runs this service as a background process. Nvraidservice.exe writes across multiple drives and treats them as a single entity. This allows for either redundancy or more efficient performance, depending on the configuration (RAID 0 or RAID 1). If you close out this service, you can potentially cause a major malfunction. While primarily a graphics processing unit corporation, Nvidia also focuses on methods of parallel processing and storage to improve efficiency.
If you want a detailed security rating about your nvraidservice.exe (and all other running background processes) read the following user opinions, and download the free trial version of Security Task Manager.
Note: Any malware can be named anything - so you should check where the files of the running processes are located on your disk. If a "non-Microsoft" .exe file is located in the C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 folder, then there is a high risk for a virus, spyware, trojan or worm infection! Check it out!

|This is not a driver. It's a monitor for the status of your RAID. It is not essential for the operation of your RAID. You can safely disable it on startup in MSCONFIG. Mine incorrectly reports failures when there are none and read operations in fact succeed (maybe my drives are slow). You don't really need to monitor your RAID from the OS. It's just a convenience. You can do everything you need from the BIOS. RoadRaat|
