NCLAUNCH.Exe forms the crux of the SWF Studio, which is an enhanced version of Flash. This is installed as part of the SWF Studio suite itself but is also found bundled with any self-extracting Flash based screensaver created using SWF Studio. Removal of the particular screen-saver does not automatically remove this process, even if SWF studio is not installed.http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/nclaunch.exe.html

If you want a detailed security rating about your NCLAUNCH.EXe (and all other running background processes) read the following user opinions, and download the free trial version of Security Task Manager.

Note: Any malware can be named anything - so you should check where the files of the running processes are located on your disk. If a "non-Microsoft" .exe file is located in the C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 folder, then there is a high risk for a virus, spyware, trojan or worm infection! Check it out!

rate1 This process always runs on my machine. I have a nice 3D fall/autumn screensaver. Doesnt seem to harm PC. I have scanned numerous times using Norton AntiVirus 2008, Uniblue SpyEraser, SUPERAntiSpyware, and Malwarebytes' AntiMalware using latest definitions, none of them see this process as a threat. ZoneAlarm doesn't catch this process ever sending information out. It only takes up 3.4M of ram, I have 2GBs and typically I don't even use 25% of that. If I need the ram, I'll kill it, otherwise, it doesn't bother me.   phat_tony04
rate1 I created it. It consumes NO resources while running and never sends anything information out from your machine. It's not a trojan/spyware/keylogger (as some people seem to think) and it doesn't do anything malicious. It is installed by screensavers created with older versions of SWF Studio (www.northcode.com) to allow the screensaver to launch applications and HTML pages when the screensaver ends. If you want more information about what it does or how to remove it, just contact Northcode support!  See also: Link   Tim Goss
