Process name: My Web Search Bar
Product: My Web Search Toolbar
Company: Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. (mindspark.com)
This dll integrates with various browsers including Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox as a search toolbar. Early versions of the toolbar were considered adware due to the fact that it installed unprompted and had an adware targeted pop-up feature. The most current version of the toolbar does not include the adware functions, and operates as a standard add-on search bar with slightly more options than a default browser toolbar. Located in Yonkers, New York, Mindspark was founded in 1999. Their My Web Search Bar is packaged with much of their software.

Mwsoemon.exe installs with a newer variant of the MyWebSearch spyware program. Generally, a browser helper object called mwsbar.dll will install at the same time. The toolbar does add search features but the search results you see will be hijacked to mywebsearch.com. Juda

I think its harmless as long as you disable mwsbar in the msconfig start up settings. The only real annoyance is the My web search bar that appears in internet explorer. Dubs
I disabled "mywebsearch" and the "mwsbar" but now my computer, when I first turn it on and my desktop uploads, I get a error message that says my C:\Program~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\1bin\MWSBAR.DLL is missing from windows system32 file. I am not very computer literate so I am unsure if this is a big problem or not a problem at all and I shouldn't worry about it and should ignore it all together. See also: Link Melissa Sweet

Juda picked up a "malware for dummies book" Its a search bar of course its going to take you to its search page. This is not a hijacking or a spyware program, its a self installed toolbar. I would not recommend it but hey, its your computer. Billybob

For those who get the MWSBAR.DLL error at startup. I had the same problem and here is how I got rid of it. Go to the link below and re-install MyWebSearch Bar. After installing, close internet explorer and the re-open it. There will now be a MyWebSeach button in the tool bar. Click on this and a menu pops up. On this menu is "Uninstall MyWebSearch". Click on this to uninstall it. Again close internet explorer and re-open it. The tool bar is gone and error will be gone too. At least it worked for me. See also: Link JohnC
