All comments about MMKeybd.exe:
rate2 It's from keyboards
rate1 Multimedia Keyboard Software - this makes the extra keys work. I have hear it can be a resource hog, but mine doesn't appear to be such a heavy load. Anyway, it's not adware/spyware.  See also: Link   Andrew Meador
rate1 the etra keys on mykeyboard work when the program is running and when it's not   Gannymeade
rate1 it is the program for my keyboard. So I can use the hot buttons   Bret Dalldorf
rate3 It appears to be a culprit - in that it makes my pc hang when shutting down or restarting   Pk
rate1 Its also for my keyboard to run the extra buttons such as the button to launch word, or the calculator etc.   Dean
rate0 netropa hot key
rate2 this is supplied with many keyboards, without this file some of my hotkeys wont work, this program has tried to attempt internet access on my pc for reasons unknown, this file is also linked with osd.exe (on screen display), in my opinion harmless if blocked by a firewall, if unblocked i cannot say if it is a risk.   OKI
rate3 On some PCs (like HP Pavillion), pings an HP server, to determine whether to light the "on line" LED or not - your choice to evaluate the interest of this ! Moreover, overrides apps fct keys behaviours, and that may be a pain   Alex
rate3 I have disabled it. It had become a resource hog. So far so good.   Donald G.
rate1 Alows mulitmedia functions to work on some keyboards. It does connect to the internet a lot, who knows why.   TC
rate1 allows shortcut keys to be used on your keyboard
rate0 it runs in the back ground causing my computer to run slower when I am accessing the web and other usages on my computer. I have turned it off and the coputer starts to run properly. I have had problems with my computer having a serious error which shuts the computer down when I am talking on MSN video calls. The blue screen says it is an unknown device driver that shuts the computer down.   susan hall
rate3 I sent an email to Netropa about this and here is what they sent back: Hi David,,I'm afraid we've stopped maintaining the software since 2001.We would recommend uninstalling Dell One-touch Multimedia Keyboard software through Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs.Sorry for the inconvenience. Sincerely, Michael   David Henderson
rate0 I've been stuck with program when installing "ViewSonic's" Keyboard. I have experienced resource hogging, the computer going on and off line by itself as well. I have lost use of some of the hot keys when I've ended its processing. I'm running AVG and AdAware and neither have perceived it as a threat. I still live uncomfortably with it though.   Skunr
rate3 I had to delete this file for installation of a MS Entertainment 7000 keyboard; mmkeybd.exe gives a malfunction of the F-keys resulting in a reset of the computer   volcano
