rate4 I believe it is a virus. I was on Symantec's website trying to manually update my virus definitions. I had the task manger up, when LuCallbackProxy .exe appeared, the download ceased saying it was completed. I tried to open downloaded file and error message came up saying it was corrupted or incomplete.   Tuesday

rate4 I accidentally opened my task manager and when I did, I seen alot more tasks running than usual. So I looked throug hte list and found this LuCallbackProxy.exe in the list at least 7 times. When I tried to "end process" on one of them, it told me that access was denied and would not let me end it. So I decided to Google it and see what it was, which is what brought me here. As soon as i clicked on the link to come here, every single one of them suddenly stopped.   Shirley Urbanec

rate4 when under Windows it is part of trojan   JR 2 no 1
rate1 The file is not dangerous. It is a part of various Norton security suites' liveupdate feature. While not dangerous, it is an intensive resource hog, and you should contact Symantec if you're having issues.   Tim M.
Porto
rate2 Talk about slowing my system...Not even sure if Nortons worth it
rate5 it eats resources and slows my pc
rate5 It matters little if it is Norton or not.... the program eats up huge amounts of computer resources, making it malware at best and a trojan at worse. Norton needs to clean up this resource hog now... or people need to stop buying their products.   usar4me
rate3 It is part of the Live Update feature in Symantec/Norton utility. Action: Disable Autoprotect in Symantec/Norton Anti-Virus. This fixed the issue for me, and I found my system was signficantly responsive afterwards.   Van
rate5 Remove it,if it is causing you problems. My computer was almost virtually disabled from it, removed it, and now runs good as gold.   Peter Criss
rate1 It's a very annoying part of the Symantec Security Suite, it is a resource hog, and happily bogs down most business systems due to their lack of technology upgrades.   KM
rate3 Just noticed the same behavior as "Shirley Urbanec" above.   JRS
rate1 I was updating symantec when i noticed the file. Sure takes alot of resources from my computer which i hear symantec is real bad on system resources.   bob
