Ian It causes my computer to crash on a regular basis and uses all of the CPU capacity, necessary for the folder lock program to function, though
Richard Everage I downloaded a program off the internet called Folder Access, It allows users to lock up certain folders for your eyes only. That's what LckFldservice is on my machine. (short for locked folder) It started when I downloaded the program. When I read the lckfld service folder in system 32, it has the files that are locked up, recorded in it. I don't see it as any kind of threat.  See also: Link
Adrian Agree with Rad - I believe this service is installed with a program that secures folders. Mine stopped working after an automatic Windows XP update, and I couldn't get back into the secure folders.  See also: Link

Gary This service, part of the "Folder Access" app, logs its activity in "lckfldservicelog.txt" found in the same directory. "Lckfldservicelog.txt" can be manually edited to remove entries. "Lckfldservice.exe" is usually started by the Startup config, but can consume 100% of the CPU if it is started manually (from a file list, etc.).
