Could not install older programs/games (Red Alert 2 would give error in setup.exe) without starting this service in winxp - starting the windows installer service may be necessary as well Do not rember installing it! I don't like processes whitch can not be removed with "hijack this", and I have bad experience in cases when it belongs to "Macrovision".
