rate2 It is part of Norton Security 2007, update system, if your CPU constantly has high usage because of this system you can try a program fix from Symantec ( which does work)  See also: Link   Storm_seraphin
rate1 its norton ,, it hogs alot of resorces when its scanning. thats what the file is supposed to do anyway   virus tech
rate1 After an update with Norton antivirus, it runs in the background, hogging nearly all of the CPU for about 10-15mins. While it's doing this I can't realisticly do anything as the PC is just so slow. Task manager does not allow you to change the priority of Nortans processes either, which is extremly annoying.   Paul Kipling
