Process name: Access Connections Profile Manager Service
Product: ThinkPad Access Connections
Company: Lenovo (lenovo.com)
A background service, the purpose of the Access Connections Profile Manager Service is to organize and manage network location profiles for laptops and other portable computers. It works in conjunction with qconsvc.exe, which monitors the status of the wireless card and any available networks within range, and compares them to saved profiles. Each separate profile contains all of the necessary settings for an individual network, and can be altered or configured using the Profile Manager. Access Connections allows you to prioritize and automate how and when you connect using different network profiles. Lenovo acquired ThinkPad from IBM in 2005, and continues to support Access Connections through their website.
